Extensions to House, Chipping Norton, Oxfordshire
Overview
This project took what was a run-down semi-detached property which had not been touched for some time and completely refurbished it and extended to provide a handsome 3 bedroom house with much better connection to the garden and to the views over the valley to the side and rear.
Design Features
There were 3 sections of extension in all, two 2 storey extensions with bedrooms over the main living areas both replacing poorly built single storey structures and a new single storey “sun room” in oak frame to link some of the areas together.
One of the other main alterations was to have the ground floor all on one level, as the original building had a number of steep and awkward level changes. This provided a useful area underneath for a log store.
The client also had an oak framed garage built and a stone built garden shed to connect the house and garden together.
