Matthew Hollingsworth specialises in Historic Building Consultancy strategic advice for change and development of Historic sites and Grade I, II* and Grade II listed buildings.
The primary aim is to use the understanding of the past to revitalise historic buildings and enable new interventions. Built heritage is not seen as unchanging, but as an evolving part of our identity, an inspiration for new design and a potential catalyst for regeneration.

- Advice for Clients setting up a project, assistance and advice on funding options from the Heritage Lottery Fund and how to set up a project so that the HLF key outcomes (Heritage, People and Communities) can be met.
- Advice and guidance on how to utilise the Architectural Heritage Fund to set up a Feasibility Study

Project Briefing
Assistance with developing a project brief understanding the historic building limitations and pitfalls from the outset so realistic goals, costs and grant applicaitons can be made. For private clients this can include a review of the commercial opportunities of the asset to try to find the best long term economic solutions.

Conservation Architect Role
Working either in the Architectural Project lead role or as a specialist adviser to a lead Architect or Project Manager led Historc Buildings Project
Site Supervision
Checking progress on site is in compliance with the Statutory requirements and advising and assisting contractors on site with Conservation Principles and Techniques
